The lawmaker representing Bakori Local Government Area in Katsina State House of Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Aminu Kurami, has died in Saudi Arabia.
It was gathered that Kurami had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, where he passed on.
According to Daily Trust, a family source said the lawmaker died after a brief illness in Madinah at around 2 am Nigerian time.
The late lawmaker was elected into the Katsina State House of Assembly in a by-election conducted on October 31, 2020, following the death of his predecessor, Hon. Abdurrazak Ismail Tsiga.
Recall that bandits kidnapped Kurami’s wife and two children and injured many others after storming his home in Bakori in 2021.
Kurami is survived by two wives, 11 children and three grandchildren.
It was learnt that a crowd of sympathisers stormed the family’s residence in Kurami on Monday morning.
