Ekiti Guber Poll: INEC delaying release of results to server to favour APC – SDP candidate, Oni

The Segun Oni Campaign Organisation (SOCO) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of deliberately delaying uploading results of the June 18, Ekiti State governorship election on its server to favour the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

The campaign organisation’s Director of Media and Publicity, Jackson Adebayo, disclosed this in a statement released in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday.

Adebayo said INEC summary of local government results on Form EC8C and summary of Ekiti State election results on form EC8D are yet to be uploaded on the server.

He said INEC’s decision is making a compilation of materials by the legal team and filing a petition by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Segun Oni, to challenge the victory of the APC candidate, Biodun Oyebamiji at the election petition tribunal pretty difficult.

The SOCO’s Spokesman said so far, INEC has uploaded a summary of unit results on Form EC8A and Ward results on FORM EC8B.

He, however, wondered why INEC should be afraid to upload the results if not for wanting to perfect the falsified figures it has used to rig for the APC perfectly before uploading the results to its server.

Adebayo said INEC’s decision should be investigated because the electoral body has no excuse for not uploading the results two weeks after the election.
