The Ekiti State governor-elect, Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye, received their certificates of return from the National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The presentation ceremony was overseen by the National Commissioner of INEC in the state, Sam Olumekun, on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, following their victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
In his remarks, Oyebanji commended INEC and security agencies for an excellent job while attributing his electoral victory to the sterling performance of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
KEMI FILANI NEWS recalls that Oyebanji was declared the winner of the Ekiti gubernatorial election by INEC after defeating his closest rivals, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
