Delta LGA vice chairman kidnapped

The Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue, has been kidnapped at Ogor town in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State.

The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday when gunmen waylaid Ozue’s car and whisked him to an unknown location.

He was said to be travelling to the Patani area of the state when the incident occurred on Sunday.

A family source confirmed the incident to journalists in Warri on Monday and said the council vice chairman was alone in the car.

The source said Ozue was travelling to the Patani area when the gunmen forcefully stopped him along Iwhre-Ovie/Oviri-Ogor Road off the Ughelli/Evwreni section of the East-West Road.

The source said, “The kidnappers left his car and his belongings including his phones at the scene of the incident.

“They have not reached out to the family since Sunday. The family is very worried about the state of his health”.

According to PUNCH, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said that efforts were ongoing to track the abductors to secure the victim’s freedom.
