The Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal, has stepped down for former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar.
Tambuwal announced his decision at the ongoing primaries of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) at the National Stadium in Abuja.
He said ”Time has come for us to make sacrifices in the interest of our party and our nation.
“I have come to the conclusion that I have to step down.”
This leaves Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike; former Senate President Bukola Saraki and still in the race.
