Atiku’s supporter collapses during PDP Certificate Of Return Ceremony in Abuja

An elderly man, said to be a supporter of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, collapsed during the certificate of return ceremony at the party secretariat, in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The incident was said to have occurred on Wednesday when the man lost consciousness due to the harsh condition inside the National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall of the National secretariat of the party.

According to Daily Trust, the venue was filled beyond capacity by supporters making it difficult for organisers of the party to control the large crowd.

Support groups and supporters of the PDP candidate were said to have turned down appeals to vacate the NEC hall even when the air conditioning system led to extreme heat.

The aforementioned publication reported that the yet-to-be identified man who was unable to bear the condition collapsed while trying to find his way outside the hall.

He was quickly rushed outside and made to sit at the security post where concerned individuals tried to revive him by pouring water and using a hand-held rechargeable fan to provide air for him.

The man later regained consciousness and was made to sit to regain his full strength before moving out of the vicinity.
