The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, have met with stakeholders in the entertainment sector.
According to Okowa who shared photos from the meeting, discussions were about how to make the sector more effective.
Okowa also revealed that Atiku pledged to support the growth and development of the sector.
He tweeted, “Entertainment has always been one of Nigeria’s greatest exports. From Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti, all the way to the new era of Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, our music and our Nollywood movies are listened to and watched in homes across the world.
“This is why, as we work to #RecoverNigeria, last night, alongside our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, we met with Nigeria’s Creative, Cultural, and Innovative (CCI) Industry to listen to recommendations on how to make the sector more effective.
“I am pleased that at the meeting, our next President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, made explicit commitments to support the growth and development of the sector right from Day 1 of the #AtikuOkowa administration.”
On his part, Atiku said, “I am excited at the impactful conversations my team and I had today with Nigeria’s Creative, Cultural and Innovative (CCI) Industry.
“I listened to the issues and needs of the industry and most importantly, I made explicit commitments to the sector to RECOVER it and support it greatly to break new frontiers in the continent and around the world.
“Most significantly, I am so proud of our CCI industry in Nigeria. They have achieved so much with little to no support, and their presentations this evening were easily one of the most intellectually engaging dialogues I’ve had in recent times.”
Meanwhile, Atiku has said the task to Recover Nigeria starts with the States, Senatorial Districts, Federal and Local Constituencies, Local Government Areas, Wards and Polling Units.
This is as he urged all political leaders and elected officials, past and present, at all levels to work in concert with Governor Bala Mohammed to ensure total victory for his re-election bid and victory for all the candidates on the ballot in the 2023 elections including Governorship, Senatorial, Federal and State Representatives in Bauchi State.
He continued, “Similarly, I enjoin the leaders and stakeholders of our great party, @OfficialPDPNig, from (A)bia to (Z)amfara, to work assiduously in unity in ensuring that we earn resounding victories in all the positions up for contest in next year’s general election.
“This will put our Recovery and Restoration agenda on a firm footing. Together as one, we shall Recover Nigeria for the good of ALL. -AA.”
