The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has confirmed the death of another pilgrim from Kaduna State, Hasiya Aminu.
According to her neighbours in the tent, Aminu died in her sleep shortly after returning from Mount Arafat.
News Agency of Nigeria reported that the Chief of Operations and Head of Nigerian Medical Mission, Dr Usman Galadima, said that no cause had been ascertained for her death.
Galadima noted that Aminu’s family had already been informed of her death, and she would be buried according to Islamic rites.
Aminu is the second pilgrim that has died during the 2022 Hajj operations, following the death of Hajiya Aisha Ahmed from Keffi in Nasarawa state.
KEMI FILANI NEWS recalls that Ahmed died last week after a brief illness and was buried in Makkah.
The stay on Arafat throughout the day is a compulsory rite for each pilgrim to fulfil to make Hajj.
The Arafat is where Prophet Muhammed delivered his last sermon on a Friday before his death.
