The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Adamu Abdullahi, is in a closed-door meeting with the senators elected under the ruling party’s platform.
The Senate President Ahmad Lawan, while reading the letter signed by the Senate Deputy Majority leader, Ajayi Borofice, announced that the meeting would take place by 2 pm at the premises.
Adamu arrived at the National Assembly complex some minutes past 2 pm and moved to Lawan’s office for a brief meeting before the general meeting.
The meeting might not be unconnected to the number of APC senators that has dropped to 62 after consistent defection from the party’s lawmakers, especially those unable to secure return tickets to the chamber.
