Terrorists who attacked the Abuja-Kaduna-bound AK9 train have released five more of the kidnapped passengers.
Tukur Mamu, the Media Consultant to a controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, confirmed the release of the five hostages on Tuesday.
Among those released was a victim shot while in their custody, Mukhtar Shuaibu.
Shuaibu was shot during a “friendly fire” while in the den of the terrorists.
KEMI FILANI NEWS recalls that terrorists released seven victims last month after more than 100 days in captivity in the forest.
This publication had reported that the terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna bound AK9 train on March 28.
Mamu, Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald and a former negotiator, identifies those released as a medical doctor from Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Mustapha Imam, Akibu Lawal, Abubakar Rufai and Mukthar Shuaibu as well as Sidi Sharif.
He had said he withdrew as a negotiator due to threats to his life, personal integrity and lack of support from the Federal Government.
Mamu said the terrorists released the five hostages on Tuesday, and the victims were in his office to thank him.
