Gunmen injured three policemen after invading the Abia State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, headquarters of the Nigeria Police, located at Uzuakoli Road.
The attack reportedly occurred on Wednesday night but details of the invasion are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
According to Vanguard, a source said one of the police officers was matched by the gunmen, while two were shot.
It was gathered that the injured police officers were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
There were also fears that the attackers might have raided the armoury of the station.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached to comment on the incident as he did not pick up calls put across to him.
