Suspended super cop, DCP Abba Kyari, has been moved out of the correctional entre in the Kuje area of Abuja.
This was following an attack on Kuje prison by gunmen.
The attack was confirmed by the centre’s spokesman, Umar Abubakar, who said the gunmen were repelled by the personnel at the centre.
He said in a statement, “Men of the Armed Squad of the Nigerian Correctional Service and other security agencies attached to the Custodial Centre have responded and calm has been restored to the facility and the situation is under control.”
Kyari is facing charges bordering on drug dealing after two of his Alleged accomplice were arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Akanu Ibiam Airport in Enugu.
He’s also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the IS for the role he allegedly played in the scam involving social media celebrity, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi.
Where he has been taken to after the attack on the Kuje prison is, however, yet to be ascertained.
