A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, has rubbished the claim made by Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Joe Igbokwe, that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, visited APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in France.
KEMI FILANI NEWS had earlier reported that Igbokwe, on his Facebook page, had posted that Wike, who lost the Peoples Democratic Party, presidential ticket to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, visited Tinubu in France.
Igbokwe, a strong ally of Tinubu wrote, “While they are on social media abusing everybody, Governor Wike goes to France to meet Asiwaju.
“Abuse, calling names, hate, and bigotry are no strategy. They hated and abused PMB (President Muhammadu Buhari) since 2015, and now they have transferred the aggression to Asiwaju. We wait and see.”
Reacting to Igbokwe’s claim, Waziri, a former Minister of Police Affairs, said he has been with the Rivers State Governor on Wednesday in Istanbul, Turkey.
” Governor Wike came directly from Nigeria to Istanbul, Turkey. He did not go to France as speculated. This is to debunk the propaganda of the APC through Igbokwe. This is fake news orchestrated by the sinking ruling party which is on its way out,” he said in a phone chat today.
Responding to what their mission to Istanbul is, he said; “What is your business with our mission? We came to rest after our national convention. Of course, as a political animal, I do politics anywhere I find myself.”
