2023 Presidency: Peter Obi, Baba-Ahmed visit Obasanjo in Abeokuta
The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State, on Sunday.
Baba-Ahmed disclosed this on his Twitter handle and shared pictures from the meeting.
“Earlier today, myself and H. E. #PeterObi in company of other #NgLabour chieftains consulted with the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo,” he captioned the pictures.
Also present at the meeting was Ituah Ighodalo, the Senior Pastor of Trinity House and social justice activist.
The visit is believed to be part of Obi and Baba-Ahmed’s consultations ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.
Recall that the LP presidential candidate had earlier visited the former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, in his residence in Minna, the Niger State capital, for possible consultation.
Obi’s visits to the two former army generals may be unconnected to gaining wider acceptance and stakeholders’ support for their ambition through nationwide consultation.
