A former Political Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, Akin Osuntokun, has been appointed as the new Director General of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign.
This was disclosed by the party’s National Chairman, Julious Abure, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Abure noted that the decision was reached after wide consultations with party stakeholders across board.
Osuntokun replaces Doyin Okupe who resigned from the position last week.
Okupe stepped down from the position following a judgment of a federal high court which convicted him of money laundering.
The court sentenced him to two years imprisonment, but with option to pay a N500,000 fine on each of the counts, which totalled N13 million.
Okupe opted to pay the fine after the sentencing.
