2023: Okowa explains why he accepted Atiku’s running mate request

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has explained why he accepted to be running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 election.
KEMI FILANI NEWS recalls that after weeks of deliberation, Atiku picked Okowa as his Vice Presidential candidate last week, a day before the deadline for submitting candidates and their running mates by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Okowa said it would be a disservice on his part as a party man to have turned down the Vice President nomination.
The governor stated this while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.
Okowa said “It would have been a disservice on my part to have turned down the Vice President nomination.
“I am a party man.”
The PDP Vice Presidential candidate also insisted that he is an Igbo man, adding “the time will come when an Igbo man will become the President of Nigeria.”
