The Federal High Court in Abuja has disqualified the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, over discrepancies in his certificates ahead of the 2023 election.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, had ruled that the plaintiff, David Edevbie, proved beyond reasonable doubt that Oborevwori was unqualified by the discrepancies in his documents.
Reacting to the judgment, the PDP state chairman, Kingsley Esiso, said, “I have not read the judgment; you know I’m a lawyer, and I need to study it before I can speak on it.
While the Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Omene Sobotie, said the judgment indicated that the APC would certainly win the 2023 gubernatorial election.
“My brother, I have not read the True Certified Copy of the judgment, so I cannot speak now, but I know that it portrayed winning for the APC,” he said.
