Listen to Tems – No Woman No Cry with lyrics…
Tems, a powerful Nigerian chanteuse, has finally released her own version of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ never-ending and popular studio number “No Woman No Cry.”
Tems’ cover of “No Woman, No Cry” is from the Hollywood Records and Marvel Music EP “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Prologue.”
Ludwig Goransson handled the music production for “No Woman, No Cry,” and he did an excellent job. The three-track collection also included Amaarae’s “A Body, A Coffin” and Santa Fe Klan’s “Soy.” The audio preview of Wakanda Forever is provided in the Prologue. According to Göransson and director Ryan Cogler in a formal press release, extensive trips to Mexico and Nigeria aided in the creation of the film’s musical world.
“We spent the majority of our time working with indigenous musicians, who taught us about the social, cultural, and historical contexts of their music.” We collaborated to create a library of vocal and instrumental recordings that addressed both traditional and unconventional uses for their musical repertoire.
While on these journeys, we had studio sessions with contemporary artists who were similar to the individuals and subject matter covered in the film. Using the plot line as a guide and recordings made by traditional musicians, we began creating a musical language for the characters, plots, and ways of life.
These discussions and seminars served as a natural breeding ground for Wakanda Forever’s musical score and soundtrack. They were created as a single unit to provide an immersive and all-encompassing soundscape for the film.”
Furthermore, Tems‘ performance of “No Woman, No Cry” is one of Nigeria’s major wins this week, following Tobi Amusan’s smashing of a 100m hurdles race just a few hours ago. Nigeria is proud to host such talent.
