Male African singers to watch out for in 2023: The world has increased its level of respect for African music. Numerous African projects have reached a global audience, garnering the admiration and attention of people from all around the world.
A number of African musicians achieved big milestones in 2022, and 2023 is predicted to see them achieve even more.
Below are male African singers to watch out for in 2023;
Victony
Victony’s supremacy this year was felt by everyone in Africa. The Nigerian superstar began the year as a featured performer in Mayorkun‘s popular song “Holy Father,” on which he had a lot of influence. The song was a huge success.
The jam-packed “Outlaw EP” followed. The album contained seven tunes, with KTIZO and Tempoe contributing. The songs “Apollo,” “Kolomental,” and “Jolene” were all hits. Unexpectedly, “Soweto” became a social media sensation. We can’t wait to hear this brilliant artist’s full album.
Young Jonn
We don’t believe that we are the only ones who were caught off guard by Young Jonn’s decision to start singing. Every music enthusiast in Nigeria who had known him as the Wicked Producer was shocked to learn this.
When Young Jonn released “Dada,” the rest is history. He came back with an even bigger remix of the song featuring Davido. After that, he released the EP “Love Is Not Enough Vol 2” and ruled the charts with “Xtra Cool.” To see what he comes up with the following year would be nice.
AKA
While some could claim that AKA showed up on time to the party this year, others might disagree. AKA released the popular song “Lemons (Lemonade)” with Nasty C after spending the majority of the year working for his next album. It is, in our opinion, a song for hustlers. He has stated that “Mass Country,” his upcoming album, will be released in the first half of 2023. Additionally, he released “Paradise,” a single with Musa Keys and Gyakie.
Davido
Without Davido, this list wouldn’t be complete. You may have noted that he concentrated on partnerships this year and continued to rule with them. Davido, along with Wizkid and Burna Boy, is one of the most well-known musicians from Africa. The Nigerian superstar fills spaces that most people can only imagine.
David has worked with a number of artists this year, including Pheelz, Young Jonn, CKay, DaBaby, Focalistic, and more. Together with the Sunday Service Choir, he recorded the gospel-influenced song “Stand Strong” and, with Trinidad Cardona and Aisha, he contributed to the World Cup soundtrack “Hayya Hayya: Better Together.” The follow-up to his album “A Better Time” is expected in 2023.
Black Sherif
The year’s top music came from Ghana. You undoubtedly concur if you sang along to Black Sherif’s “Kwaku The Traveller” this year. On the radio, the Ghanaian sensation was a revelation. Africa could not ignore him because he not only delighted fans with the hit song but also published the album “The Villain I Never Was.” Black Sherif ruled the charts with tunes including “Soja,” “Second Sermon Remix,” and “45.” We eagerly anticipate what he has planned for us in 2018.
Crayon
You wouldn’t be mistaken if you stated that Crayon, a Mavin artist, had his most prosperous year to date in 2022. Ijo (Laba Laba) and Overloading (OVERDOSE), two songs by the Nigerian singer, were quite successful. He made a comeback in late November with the “Ijo (Laba Laba) Remix,” which also featured Camidoh, Focalistic, and Costa Titch, two South African musicians. Next year, there will undoubtedly be more for him.
Magixx
Mavin star Magixx is expected to have an even larger year in 2023 thanks to all of his achievements this year. In September 2022, the renowned vocalist made her debut with the EP of the same name. He co-wrote “Love Don’t Cost A Dime (Re-Up)” with Ayra Starr, and it was successful this year. His success has increased because to songs like “Shaye,” “Slow,” and others. He is one of many prospects who might have an album out the following year.
Samthing Soweto
After the release of his song “Amagents,” which was composed as a letter for his daughter, Samthing Soweto emerged like a phoenix and returned his position at the top of the charts. The delighted parent has been doing rather well for himself and has done gigs all across Mzansi. There will be more from him in 2019.
