Movie Review: Why The One For Sarah has no business in the Cinemas

One For Sarah movie review

‘The One For Sarah’, is a movie on emotional abuse and self-discovery. It highlights the different kinds of emotional abuse women suffer in relationships.

The supposed romantic drama, directed by Lyndsey Esejuku, and produced by Louis Okocha features top movie stars, including Beverly Naya, Bimbo Ademoye, Daniel Etim Effiong, Bucci Franklin, Uzor Arukwue, and Adunni Ade.

The One For Sarah tells the story of Sarah (Beverly Naya), a fashion designer who overcomes emotional abuse, rediscovers her value, and finds love again in a man’s hands (Uzor Arukwue) who has all she wants in a relationship.

The Flops of The One For Sarah Movie

We understand that the movie is focused on how women go through emotional and physical abuses in intimate relationships and the best to overcome such situations, yet The One For Sarah has no business in the cinemas.

Another important lesson picked from the movie is that there are still interesting marriages that the couples involved enjoy.

However, these messages would have been passed on better if it’s a YouTube movie or one of those on African Magic and the likes.

While watching The One For Sarah, you’ll end up fighting your sleepy eyes because all you expect to get from the movie isn’t forthcoming.

Well, thanks for the Popcorn and soft drink to calm the nerves and buy more time before storming out of the cinema hall.

Some scenes were even just unnecessary. An example is the security guard played by Bro Shaggy offering to take Sarah’s torn dress to the tailor for amendments. The beach shoot and all.

Bro Shaggy’s poor comic relief didn’t help matters either, as he struggled to play with words.

So many puzzles left unsolved, how did Sarah’s abusive husband track her? How did it end for him?

What’s the connection between Sarah’s best friend and the photographer? Why was she pregnant at the end of the movie?

Sarah’s British accent was just too much and wouldn’t let one concentrate…lol.

Seeing The One For Sarah is a waste of money!
