Woman found dead in Benue hotel 

A young woman in her late 20s has been found dead in a hotel in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.

According to eyewitness reports, the lady identified as Takor Veronica lodged with a man in Madonna Hotel around Nyiman area of Makurdi. But was found lifeless the next morning after the man she can with had reportedly left the hotel.

As at the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding her death is unclear but some eyewitness sources said she died during a sex romp with her partner. Others said she was poisoned by internet fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo-Yahoo boys, and her private parts removed for rituals.

But the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said there was no “marks of violence” on the deceased.

She said “No part of the deceased body was missing at the time her remains were picked from the hotel room.”

“There is a death report of a lady in a hotel but details will come from the doctors, though we didn’t see marks of violence on the body. So, the autopsy will reveal the cause of the death, she added.

The PPRO said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Kemi Filani News recalls that a female online vendor and graduate of Benue State University awaiting NYSC call up, Joy Onuh Ogochuckwu, was raped, killed and abandoned at a bush in the North Bank area of Makurdi last year.

Two suspects were arrested by the police after her dead body was found in an uncompleted building.
