This woman seized a set of twins belonging to another woman

A set of twins were reportedly snatched from their mother for unknown reasons by a 50-year old woman, Mrs. Regina Dassi. Many may be wondering why a woman with children of her own – we believe, would seize infants of another woman, God knows. She has since been arrested, however what led to the seizure was not revealed by the police.

Reports have it that the incident happened at Bambo Estate in Ajah area of Lagos State where the duo resides.

Residents around the area that the suspect and the victims reside however speculated that something must have transpired between the duo before she could have the audacity to seize the woman’s twins.

However further investigation by this reporter indicates that residents in the area know them well.  A particular man who chose to be unnamed said:

“The two of them are well known in this area. But we can not say specifically why the other woman would come and take babies that do not belong to her. Even if the mother of the babies is owing her, that did not give her the right to kidnap the babies”.

Some other residents reportedly suggested that a failed agreement between them resulted in the 50-year-old woman seizing the twins.

She however pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O Sule-Amzat granted Mrs. Dassi bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuehi did not object to her bail.She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 17 May, 2018.
