Some armed robbers have reportedly killed three persons when they attacked a bank in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area in Delta State.
An eyewitness asserted that the robbers stationed some of their gang members at vital positions in the town while some robbed the bank without confrontation.
It was gathered that some of the customers were held hostage for almost an hour while other gang members stationed outside shot sporadically.
“Unfortunately, four persons died in the operation while many were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals,” an eyewitness revealed.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
Edafe stated that he was in contact with the division for rapid response on the details of the incident.
He said, “I am yet to get the details of the operation, but I learnt that three persons were killed during the operation. I will get back to you.”
