Last week, Italian authorities arrested and charged a Nigerian national with the murder of an 18-year-old Italian woman.
Innocent Oseghale allegedly murdered and dismembered Pamela Mastropietro, hid the body in two suitcases before dumping them in the countryside outside Pollenza near Macerata in Marche.
According to reports, Oseghale, 29, appeared “confused and not very clear” during questioning in which he denied the charges on Thursday.
Well, the rule according to a preliminary investigations judge on Tuesday has declared that it is not proven that Innocent Oseghale, is the killer.
Although, Oseghale’s detention was confirmed for the crimes of hiding and desecrating a human body, but not for homicide.
The suspect’s action inspired an Italian neo-Fascist to go on a shooting spree against 6 Africans at the weekend. The attacker, Luca Traini, said it was an act of revenge for Mastropietro’s murder.
Oseghale has denied the murder accusations, saying he ran away from the scene after the woman overdosed in his flat, where police found the girl’s bloodied clothes, large kitchen knives and a meat cleaver.
Another Nigerian, a suspected drug pusher like Oseghale, is being probed for allegedly selling heroin to Mastropietro, whose dismembered body was found in two suitcases.
