    Nanny burns child’s buttocks with stove fire In Lagos

    Considering the hustle life of an average person based in Lagos, it is no surprise that parents are tempted to the pressure of having to procure the services of a trusted maid or nanny to assist in taking care of the kids at an agreed fee.


    In a rather sad incident, reports of a nanny who was trusted to protect an 8 year old female child, ended up being the mind behind hurting her, for unknown reasons

    37-year-old nanny, Fatimah Yakubu, who allegedly burnt an 8-year-old girl’s buttocks on a stove, was on Monday, April 16,2018, brought before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

    According to TheNation, Yakubu, of No. 15, Ologolo Street, Lekki, Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of assault occasioning grievous harm before Mr B. I. Bakare.

    Upon questioning, the accused attributed the reason behind her wicked act to the fact that the 8 year old plays too much

    Prosecuting Sergeant Friday Mameh told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence last Tuesday, at about 11am, at her residence.

    Mameh said: “The defendant grievously harmed the 9-year-old girl by burning her buttocks with a burning stove which caused her bodily harm”.

    The accused person pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Bakare granted her N500, 000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.

    The case was adjourned to May 5,2018.
