A 24 year old Police officer has been left injured and has permanently lost a body part after he was bitten on the middle finger by a suspected criminal whom he arrested.
The unfortunate incident took place in Brooklyn police station on Friday night.
The suspect, 34-year-old Ainsley Johnson in an attempt to resist being handcuffed, made for the attack as they got into a struggle while he was being escorted to a cell
Upon realization that his middle finger was cut off from the nail to the tip, Johnson quickly swallowed the finger before the officer in company of his colleagues had the opportunity to recover it.
The attacked officer has since been rushed to a hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the criminal who was initially arrested for kicking the back door and the windows of a man’s BMW received a vandalism charge, added two other charges to his offences; assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
Meanwhile, Ainsley Johnson also allegedly destroyed the victim’s mailbox with a cement planter and has a lengthy arrest history for driving without a license, forgery and resisting arrest and also raping a woman in Queens in 2008.
