A mad man was said to have been almost lynched yesterday after a mob stormed abode in a bush in Sapele, Delta state. According to reports, residents of the area have been suspecting the mad man to be a ritualist and a ”blood sucker” following rumours that he was found with a corpse.
Residents reportedly stormed his tent which was built in a bush in the area and discovered nothing as a second person who was reportedly staying with the mad man fled on sighting them.
According to Nationalhelm, the man was held and beaten mercilessly by the mob after he was tied up as he kept saying that he’s not mad and he can leave the bush if they want him to. He also begged for his life as the mob wanted to set him on fire.
Report has it that the man has been certified mentally unstable and was later chased out of the area.
