Two members of the Nigeria Police, Imo divisional headquarters in Obowo, Umulowe community, were killed on Friday by unknown gunmen.
In retaliation to the attack, three other officers were injured while trying to salvage the situation.
The Police PPRO, Ikeokwu Orlando, during his press release, revealed that the hoodlums came in large numbers.
CP Nasiru Mohammed, who is the Imo State Commissioner of Police, has directed the Command’s Quick Intervention Team (QUIT) and other tactical teams to begin the process of investigating the incident.
The Imo state commissioner of Police had paid the affected station an ”on the spot assessment and evaluation” to properly investigate the incident.
He has also paid a visit to the injured police officers and asked that they be moved to Owerri for adequate medical attention and treatment.
Mohammed was escorted by the command’s medical officer, Commander of QUIT, and other tactical commanders of the command.
