Department of States Services (DSS) have warned against plans by some groups to cause ethnic-religious conflicts in some part of the country.

Dr Peter Afunanaya who is the DSS Publc Relations Officer issued the warning in a statement on Wednesdy in Abuja.
DSS as at January 11, 2021 issued an alert that some elements are working to incite ethnic and religious war in some states of the federation.
The state concerned were Oyo, Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna, Plateau, Rivers, Lagos and some other South East states.
According to the PRO, the elements inciting the war plannned on engaging their foot soldiers to attack worship centers, religious leaders, personalities as well as key vulnerable points.
Peter further explained that this element has now resort to inciting statement that pit citizens against each other in order to apparently inflame the embers of tribal and religious discords.
“For the umpteenth time, the Service strongly warns these elements to desist forthwith from their (planned) nefarious acts or face the full wraths of the law.
“The DSS will, in collaboration with other security and law enforcement agencies, take necessary steps to ensure the safety of lives and property of the citizenry,” he said.
