A male applicant reportedly collapsed shortly after successfully completing about a two-kilometre race in the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC screening in Kogi State.
The screening was said to have been disrupted for hours in the state capital Lokoja on Tuesday when the male applicant collapsed suddenly and died, NAN reports.
The Kogi State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Olusegun Martins confirmed the incident.
According to the commander, a team of medical officials of the FRSC joined by their Nigerian Army counterparts quickly attended to the applicant and administered first aid on him.
Mr Martins said, however, that the applicant died barely 30 minutes after he was admitted into the clinic.
He said that the incident would not result to the suspension of the recruitment in Kogi, expressing his condolences to the family of the deceased.
On September 25, the FRSC commenced the recruitment of 4,000 people out of some 324,000 shortlisted applicants.
