Assistant commissioner of police, Yomi Shogunle has shared photos of himself shopping at a local market.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote:
“Going to the market shouldn’t be a duty reserved only for our wives, mothers, sisters and daughters.
Men and boys should also do market runs for the family.”
Yomi Shogunle has been in the news of late over the brutality suffered by Nigerians in the hands of men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Complains were aired via social media using the hashtag #EndSARS, with many Nigerians calling on the government to put a stop to the activities of the operatives.
Yomi Shogunle is one of those who been of the contrary opinion that the force should be scrapped.
However, the Federal Government, few weeks ago, ordered for the overhaul of the force to the delight of Nigerians. Part of the new development is that the operatives must now wear police uniform instead of mufti.
