Forever 21, an authority in fashion and retail trends, has apologized after they used a white-blonde model to advertise their Black Panther-themed Christmas sweater.

The images of the model rocking the sweater with a “Wakanda Forever” slogan and a Black Panther mask on the front are live on their website.

Critics of the advert are saying that they don’t see anything wrong with the use of a white model, their only grouse is that a black model was not also used.

A rep for Forever 21 says, “Forever 21 takes feedback on our products and marketing extremely seriously. We celebrate all superheroes with many different models of various ethnicities and apologize if the photo in question was offensive in any way.”
