Buckingham Palace has said that Queen Elizabeth II is saddened by the challenges faced by her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan.
A statement also said the monarch takes their allegations of racism in the royal family seriously.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.
“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members,” the palace said in a statement released on the queen’s behalf.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the interview, accused the royal family of racism within the palace.
Meghan revealed she attempted suicide and her son’s skin colour was a concern in the palace.
