The countdown to the start of the holiday madness begins at this point. Our calendars will soon be full of Christmas dinners, holiday cocktail parties, and other festive gatherings, and the challenge of finding something to wear to all of these events will undoubtedly drain you.
To make things a little easier this year, we’ve created holiday dressing rules to make outfit planning far less stressful.
Lean Into the Holiday Spirit
Consider adding some silver or red accents to liven things up for the holidays. On the other hand, this is the one time of year when you can wear your Christmas sweaters, so we say go big with all the FAB clothing you own.
It’s Glamour Time!
Oh, the velvet, sequins, and feathers! If there was ever a time to go all in on sparkle and shine, now is it. Simply add some heels, tulle, or other embellished pieces for a nighttime event, and you’ll look fabulous and feel festive.
Comfort is essential
Because so much of the holiday season revolves around food, we can almost guarantee you’ll be infinitely happier if you dress comfortably both before and after a big meal. Consider changing into something else if the waistband is pinching you before you’ve even left the house. This way, you can concentrate on catching up with your loved ones rather than being distracted by your outfit.
Wear black when in doubt
Wearing head-to-toe black is a surefire way to look chic and elegant, whether you prefer a little black dress, a coordinating suit, or a cozy sweater and some Audrey Hepburn-inspired cropped trousers. As an added bonus, it’s the ideal foundation for eccentric accessories like shoulder-grazing statement earrings, rainbow beaded handbags, or feather-adorned heels. Of course, you can’t go wrong with some pearl studs and a simple wristwatch—the choice is entirely yours.
