Aker Okoye, a Nigerian teen who hugged Meghan Markle has written an open letter to apologize to her husband the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle paid a visit to his Robert Clack Upper School in celebration of Women’s Day which is part of her last solo outing as a member of the British Royal Family.
Stealing the spotlight on the night is Aker who mounted the stage to deliver a speech after which he gave Meghan Markle a hug.
He told his peers from the stage, “She really is beautiful. I had to speak the truth there”.
Meghan Markle had to praise him for his “incredible confidence”.
Speaking to The Sun about the experience, Aker described it as “the best day” of his “life so far”.
“I’ve written the letter to make sure Harry doesn’t have a problem with it and to say sorry really and that I hope he didn’t mind”.
He added that his overzealous approach was found to be funny by Meghan Markle
“Meghan found it funny and I’m sure Harry will as well. When she asked which brave young man wanted to do a talk I jumped at the chance.
“I leapt up there. I thought it would be proper protocol to give her a cuddle. It’s all a blur.”
His letter to Prince Harry was published by The Sun:
‘Dear Harry and Meghan. Harry, hope you don’t mind me writing this letter,’ he wrote.
‘I hope you didn’t mind me cuddling your wife. I was just overwhelmed and shocked to see her arrive at my school.
‘It was a pleasure to hear her speech and to speak in front of her as well. She is truly inspirational.’
