Nigerians are reacting to photos of the house that collapsed at 2AM in Lagos

Nigerians on popular microblogging site, Twitter are reacting profusely to the photos of the house that collapsed at a certain area in Lagos at about 2am.

A Twitter user had taken to the platform to reveal as early as possible that a building collapsed around her but not much details was given out by the user.

The user with ID @oshaprapranurse took to the platform to reveal it and she stated that a pregnant woman was trapped in the building collapse.

She then later stated that other people are still trapped inside the building.

The user wrote:

“A whole building collapsed in my area at 2am this morning and the number of people who died in it was uncountable 

We all haven’t slept since midnight 

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Somewhere in Lagos island”

Imagine your home were you slept every night now becoming your coffin

So many buildings in that Lagos Island are already weak and are death trap. The earlier the government look into it, the better for many of the occupants. I pray & hope they recover people alive.

Chaii… Majority of this buildings have faulty foundations and were built with substandard materials just so that the landlords can have buildings to rent out…

Lagos island , especially obalende has so many tall residential buildings that were originally one storey but converted to multiple storey sitting on one storey foundation. Oda buildings built recently built too were rushed. That zone is a danger zone, I work dere so I know
