We’ve learned a valuable lesson since the pandemic: never underestimate the power of youths, especially their role in shaping fashion trends. Gen-Zs have repeatedly proven that they have a powerful voice in fashion, from cancelling clothing items such as skinny jeans and animal fur coats to advocating for eco-friendly fabrics.
The world is witnessing a new wave of fashion trends with the word “Gen-Z” written boldly on them, thanks to popular social media apps like Instagram and TikTok.
We understand that understanding Gen-Z fashion trends can be difficult, so we created the perfect style list;
Cosplay
The anime culture is expanding, and Generation Z is living for it. As a result, many of them have tapped into their creative and artistic sides, sporting outfits inspired by their favourite anime characters.
Bike shorts
Just so you know, you don’t have to ride a motorcycle to pull off this trend. Bike shorts have evolved from being a clothing item worn within a home’s confines to becoming a major street style statement.
Slip dresses
Gone are the days when you had to wear a heavy fabric gown just to look good. As a result of fashion evolution, every lady’s attention is now directed toward a light fabric slip dress, making it a must-have.
Although its style and texture are similar to that of an undergarment, it is still versatile, comfortable, and, most importantly, stunning.
Boots with platform heels
As platform heels are in vogue, one could argue that Gen-Z owns the phrase “rise above the competition.” As if platforms weren’t enough, boots are taking over the streets, and Instagram feeds.
Monochrome effect
Why wear just a pink skirt when you can be all pink from head to toe? So, stop worrying about colour combinations when choosing an outfit because Gen-Z, also known as Zoomers, has approved of wearing only one colour.
Gender non-conformity
Gender norms, goodbye. Hello, liberty of expression! Playing by the rules is something Gen-Z does not do because they continue to put their own spin on what outfit is appropriate for each gender.
Bra tops
Body positivity has never looked better than when it’s raining bra tops on the runways and the streets. As the name suggests, bra tops resemble bras but can be worn as outerwear.
