Nollywood stars turned up over last week to different weddings, especially that of top star, Rita Dominic.
Nollywood had all of Nigeria in a chokehold, one that we weren’t prepared for but reveled in nevertheless.
As Nigerians thrilled during the week as Rita Dominic married her beau Fidelis Anosike, we all rejoiced over the weekend as Kemi Adetiba married her prince charming Oscar Heman-Ackah.
One thing was certain: they spared no expense, tailors did not disappoint, and Nollywood was stepping on our necks all week.
With New School Nollywood and Old School Nollywood reminding us that the theme of every Nigerian wedding is ‘dress to kill,’ it was difficult to choose our finest dressed.
In no particular order, here are our top ten best-dressed wedding guests from last week’s Nollywood weddings:
Ini Edo
Ini Edo, who has been trending for three days in a row, showed us why she is still a ‘happening babe’ by going out in a magnificent dress with wide sleeves, a corset, and side ruffles, matched with gold earrings and shoes that kept all attention on the outfit.
Sandrah Tubobereni
Sandrah, the bride’s stylist, easily made the list of best-dressed wedding guests in her stunning corset gown, which included a gold encrusted top and a variation on the classic George wrapping style.
Nse Ikpe-Etim
Nse questioned who said it had to be a dress and shown that Asoebi may be more than mermaid tailed dresses. Her look is one for the record books, as she appears in a gorgeous two-piece with a detailed corset top.
Mokeme, Chidi
Chidi, who represented the males, reminded us why he is still a Nollywood fine boy and how he never ages. This man, dressed in all green down to his shoes, had everyone wondering how he looked like he hasn’t aged a day.
Eve Esin
Eve Esin’s tailor received the memo that a little flesh never hurt anyone. The bodice of the dress was embellished with gold, and the little cleavage offered us a new take on being sexy. The dress’s nipped waist and ruffled hips sealed the deal.
Dima-Okojie, Ini
Kemi Adetiba may have said no to Asoebi, but she never said no to Aso Oke, and Ini delivered. The lovely midi Aso Oke tube dress had silver accents at the top, a bow, and the highlight for us was the gele and pink accessories.
Ooja Sharon
Sharon Ooja blew us away with her blue gown, which included a net corset that was lavishly embroidered and exposed some skin.
Sobowale Sola
Toyin Tomato herself was trending as the mother of the day as well as one of the finest dressed. Oba arrived in a lace Iro, while Buba was decked out in gold jewelry that reminded us of why she’s King.
Bakre Mariam
The word for it is breathtaking. We couldn’t take our gaze away from the big floral sleeves that rightly graced this modest black dress. Our favorite element was the lack of accessories, which allowed all eyes to be drawn to the dress RIGHTFULLY!
Emmanuel Temisan
Even the males came to a halt. Taymesan’s agbada was calming to watch him arrange and rearrange.
