Happily married Nigerian actress and film maker, Yewande Adekoya has cleared the air on the credit fraud report which went viral late last year.
According to the report, Yewande Adekoya was placed under house arrest in the United States of America for crimes related to credit card scam and bank transfer fraud.
In this interview with Kemi Filani Blog, Yewande rubbished the report thus:
It was a story that was deliberately cooked up to tarnish my image. I didn’t travel out of Nigeria at all in 2017 not to talk of getting arrested in the US for fraud. As at the time of the false news, the reporter falsely claimed I was under house arrest in the US since October 2017.
I did several live videos on IG from Lagos Nigeria when the false news went viral to prove that the story was malicious and untrue and I warned the reporter during the LIVE video sessions to desist from carrying deliberate false news about me.
I also did several live radio interviews and newspaper interviews. and After it was clear to everyone that the report was malicious and untrue, she kept insisting that her sources were right. This made me very certain that she was paid to do it if not she wouldn’t fly such a very obviously untrue story. My lawyers asked the said reporter to apologize within 7days or we would ask for redress in Court. She refused to apologize and retract her statement publicly, so my lawyers have taken the issue up.
Reminiscing on how the past year was for her, the actress said
“I bless God. The year 2017 was fantastic for me. Well, I would say it was IYAWO ADEDIGBA and the fact that God gave me the grace to show the traditional Yoruba movie at the Cinemas first before it’s online release and DVD release. It was a big deal for me and I thank God that He made it possible.”
On her plans for 2018, she said
“Let’s keep our fingers crossed, God is definitely cooking something explosive”
On how she has successfully maintained a happy home despite her busy schedule, she said
It’s just the grace of God. I can’t say I have the key to achieving a balance between the two. It has just being the Grace of God. And I grateful to God for giving me a very supportive family, Most especially my hubby. We try our best possible to spend time with each other away from the world around us. It helps us to communicate better, bond and connect
Late last year, it was reported that you fell victim to a credit card fraud which you denied through your lawyer, however the journalist in question is still insisting and standing by her report. What do you think could have warranted such report? What do you have to say to fans that are still having doubts on the whole issue?
