Veteran reggae musician, Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek has expressed his displeasure at the chunk of new artistes released into the Nigerian music scene today.
In an interview with NET, Majek, who is still recovering from his failing health, stated that he was only impressed with a few of the new artistes.
The reggae path-finder and international star; specifically declared love for wizkid and 2face’s music saying ‘I like Wizkid and 2face, they play good music’, while he dragged D’banj’s name in the mud by calling him a “cultist”.
“I don’t like that other boy called D’banj, those ones that went to join Illuminati. How can you go and sell your soul to the devil because you want to be famous. I don’t even like his music anyway’”
He further claimed that D’banj had “indeed sold his soul to the devil” in a bid to climb up the ladder of his career. ‘
Meanwhile, Yahooze crooner Olu Maintain has said that “Nigerian musicians have experienced a lot of growth but little development” insisting that growth without development is like building a house with a pack of cards.
Olu Maintain stated this, during a saturday breakfast programme on Channels TV.
