A secessionist group operating in Bakassi Peninsula, the Biafra Nations League, BNL, has threatened to throw the region into chaos over attempts by security agents to arrest its leaders.
The group alleged an attempt by the army and the anti-cultism squad of the Nigeria Police in IKang to apprehend it’s National Leader, known as Princewill Chimezie Richard yesterday.
Ebuta Akor Deputy National Leader of BNL, Ebuta Akor Takon, who spoke to journalists on Wednesday said “The Security operatives invaded St. Mary’s Hotel, Ekpri Ikang yesterday night suspecting that the BNL was holding a meeting there.
“[Our] members do not meet in a hotel. BNL members are creek people and live in the creek.
“Should anything happen to the BNL Leader or any key officer of the group, that would throw the entire Peninsula into chaos.,” he said.
