There was supposed to be a wedding at one of the churches in Ekwuluobia Anambra this weekend. Instead, a funeral was arranged.
The
38-year-old groom, Mr. Nze- kwe Chukwuemeka Barthlomew, died just hours
before his wedding vows to his bride groom on Saturday.
The late
Bartholomew, a vulcanizer, died in an accident on his way to Church for
his wedding ceremony in Ekwuluobia Anambra, yesterday.
According
to reports, he was being conveyed on a high capacity motorcycle around
9:30am by his Best Man, from their home to the church in Ekwuluobia
where the bride was already waiting for him.
Tragedy
struck when the two friends ran into a stationary Camry car and the
driver of the car suddenly opened the door oblivious of the motorcycle
coming behind reportedly on a high speed.
Although, his Best Man
sustained minor injuries, the groom was hit hard by the door – he landed
on the tarred road hitting his head against the hard surface and died
on the spot.
His corpse has since been deposited at a morgue while the Best Man was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
