Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has met Rtd Amuda Aluko who is Nigeria’s oldest surviving soldier.
They met at the 2019 Nigerian Army Day Celebration and Combat Support Arms Training Week grand finale.
Osinbajo met Aluko who is 104-year-old when he represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the event which held at Ikeja Cantonment parade ground in Lagos on Saturday.
Every July 6 the Nigerian Army Day is being celebrated, since 1976.
The Vice President tweeted his encounter with the retired soldier.
“Sometimes on the job, I get to meet incredible people. Today, I met perhaps Nigeria’s oldest surviving soldier, 104 year-old, RTD Private Amuda Aluko at the Army Day Celebrations.
“He is almost as old as the Amalgamation of the the protectorates that became Nigeria,” Osinbajo said.
