Last week, Fojo Media released a star studded movie, The Reunion.
So, Ella Chioma of Kemi Filani News was at Ikeja City Mall yesterday and after watching with the third eye, here is our dissection of the movie – The Reunion
With the calibers of celebrities that the movie boosts, one would expect an overwhelming performance; a classy movie that would scoop awards here and there.
Well, if you are eager to know what could have possibly transpired between Coza Pastor, Biodun Fatoyibo and Busolo Dakolo, the movie gives an insight, aside that, there is little or nothing in ‘The Reunion’ we haven’t seen many times in Nollywood of yesteryears.
The beginning, was not so punchy to arouse your keen interest or keep you glued to the TV, they also suffered disjointed continuity, but in all, the movie ended well – It was a happy ending.
The story line was so watery and predicable, but production quality was quite good, no distortion.
The Reunion treats societal issues, ranging from marriage pressure, baby mama, fake friends, society expectations, homosexuality and more.
Now, let’s talk about the top cast.
Mercy Aigbe played the role of a popular politician’s wife yet she gave rooms for people to grab, hug, take selfie photos with her in public ( in Nigeria? Who does that?)
Femi Jacob’s borrowed Warri accent was so obvious and not sounding so pleasant to the ear. He tried but could do better or maintain his normal English flow.
Mercy Johnson, our darling super star exaggerated her scenes, not like the Mercy we are used to.
Tana Adelana who is obviously the heroine of the movie deserves another round of applause, her delivery was so coordinated, facial expression was apt too!
Lilian Esoro is another actress whose acting prowess can’t be over emphasized. She did well.
Jide Kosoko – We could count how many words he uttered, as he only made two appearances in the 1hr 40mins movie.
We would have loved too see more of Yaw (Steve Onu) and Lateef Adedimeji for more comic relief.
In conclusion, The Reunion wasn’t worth our N2000, we want a refund!!!
