State of Emergency in Anambra: Reno Omokri questions Malami’s silence on Kaduna, others

Reno Omokri, a political activist and former aide to ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has questioned the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, over the threat to declare a state of emergency in Anambra State.

Recall that the Federal Government via Malami on Wednesday had threatened to declare a state-of-emergency in Anambra State over the insecurity in the state. This comes ahead of the state governorship election on November 6.

The statement has since been received with mixed reactions from the political class in the country.

Omokri, in a series of tweets via his Twitter, questioned why Malami would threaten to declare a state of emergency in Anambra and not in Kaduna, Borno, Yobe, Zamfara, and Niger States where he claimed Boko Haram controls 500 communities.

Omokri wrote, “Abubakar Malami’s threat to declare a state of emergency in Anambra may very well be the spark that ignites what he can’t put out.

“How can you leave Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger (where Boko Haram controls 500 communities) and declare an emergency in Anambra?”
