Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed his intention to repeal the Public Office Holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension and other entitlements to former Governors and their Deputies.
Sanwo-Olu made this known on Tuesday, while presenting the 2021 budget to the Lagos State House of Assembly
This was confirmed by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, via his Twitter feed.
The bill will repeal pension payments and entitlements to former Governors and their deputies.
“Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu has announced his intention, through executive bill, to repeal the public office holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension & other entitlements to former governors and their deputies,” Gawat tweeted.
