Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, will be opening Agege-Pen Cinema Bridge to vehicle movement on Friday, reports reveal.
A reliable anonymous source, who is a top government official of the Sawo-Olu cabinet, told newsmen that the long-anticipated 1.7-kilometer long bridge would be commissioned and opened tomorrow.
When the bridge was under construction during an inspection tour, Governor Sanwo-Olu had disclosed that the bridge would be completed and ready for operations by February 2021.
When queried on the bridge’s state, which is slated to be opened on Friday, the top government official said,” The governor will commission the bridge on Friday,” he also stated that the contractors had completed the construction works on the bridge.
The bridge cut across the Oba Ogunji Road and the Oke Koto axis of Agege town in Lagos. The overpass also links to the old Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway through the Abule Egba area.
Once the bridge is opened, the challenge motorists face along the Agege-Abula and Agege-Iyana Ipaja axis would cease, and it would enable the free flow of movement of several motorists in those axes.
