President Goodluck Jonathan, made a suprise appearance today at the ongoing Holy Ghost Congress of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at Redemption Camp along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The President once again used the occassion to keep Nigerians guessing as to whether he will throw his hat in the ring come 2015 as he stated that “2015 is still a long time from now”.
Rather than focus on 2015, Jonathan said he would rather concentrate on creating concrete changes that will benefit Nigerians. Citing efforts put in by his administration to ensure stable power supply, he said “you would have noticed some change in power generation; but that is not the final destination as we’re still working to ensure a reliable power supply”.
It would be recalled that the president was at the church’s 2010 Holy Ghost Congress where a photo of him kneeling in front of the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye became an instant hit. While calling for constant prayers to enable him succeed in the onerous task of “transforming the country”, Jonathan thanked the congregation for their prayers in the past, which he said had helped him ascend the presidency.
