Director of Boyz N The Hood, John Singleton has been laid to rest with a private ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday.
The director’s obituary carried beautiful pictures of him and one had a poem titled, Don’t Worry, was featured with the words:
Don’t worry about me, Loved Ones
About my sorrows, nor my pain.
There was a chariot sitting and waiting for me, It was marked in Jesus’ Name.
The service took place at Angelus Funeral Home Chapel and had attendees like Tyrese, Ice Cube, Morris Chestnut and Nia Long .
Reports say John Singleton died from an acute ischemic stroke. Contributing factors in his death were intracerebral hemorrhage and hypertension.
Last month, he reportedly suffered a stroke at a hospital where he had checked himself into after suffering weakness in his leg after returning from Costa Rica.
He is survived by his seven children: daughters Justice, Hadar, Cleopatra, Selenesol, Issis, and sons Maasai and Seven. He was 51.
