lecturers to return to work, saying a resolution to the 54-day strike
was under way – however the lecturers are insisting on having their N97billion first!
So here I am keeping to my word on publishing a post on ASUU everyday till the strike ends soon.
I got this hilarious but factual BC just after the big brother africa game ended yesterday. The BC reads “BBA is over, ASUU strikes continues, which house will win the N97BILLION?? FG, Students or ASUU” – that’s just by the way!
Have you guys noticed that the ASUU website – www.asuunigeria.org IS DORMANT.
The latest
information on the site is about the 2011 strike which ASUU embarked on
following a meeting from Tuesday November 29, to Thursday December 1,
2011 at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State – very disappointing right?
Yet ASUU is demanding for infrastructural upgrade in the
universities – this will not happen when the information is
scanty and the issues seem esoteric.
It’s social media platforms can also serve as good tools in accomplishing this GOAL that’s unjustifiably keeping students at home.
It is high time ASUU also took its social media engagements serious. There would also be great understanding of the issues behind the strike
with the use of infographs on ASUU’s site and other social media space.
This is what ASUU should also do asides
its justified demand of billions of earned, merited allowances and
infrastructure upgrade. It owes the public this responsibility.
In the meantime, this is the last Monday of the month! August flew by! Let’s make it count!
